love being different
Last week of May and technically the end of springtime. I suppose it’s fitting that I had a “summery” week. (And a very sappy one too.)
May 26, 2014: Shanice – Fall For You
Best Line/s: “I wanna live and take a chance…”
Over Memorial Day weekend, I went to Staten Island to have a barbecue with some friends. The music was a lot of late 90s and early 2000s. This one–which takes me back to high school–stayed with me all day on Monday.
May 27, 2014: Kai – It Might Be You
Best Line/s: “I’ve been saving love songs and lullabies…”
Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, I went from Shanice to the Backstreet Boys, to N*Sync, to Boyzone, and so on… ended up with this on Tuesday. This can also be my OPM band of the week. 🙂
My chosen best line? I love it because it’s definitely something I used to do. 🙂
May 28, 2014: Sting – Fields of Gold
Best Line/s: “I never made promises lightly, and there have been some that I’ve broken…”
An amazing TED Talk by Sting (watch it here, please watch it by clicking here) led me to listen to Sting and the Best of The Police album all of Wednesday. This being my favourite song, it naturally ended up the song of the day. And being a huge fan of Greek mythology, I do love the imagery of the Elysian Fields.
I can’t even begin to discuss how much I love Sting. I am surprised this is his first inclusion into my soundtracks.
May 29, 2014: Hot Hot Heat – Middle of Nowhere
Best Line/s: “Unpredictability’s my responsibility, baby…”
Sometimes your iTunes just surprises/reminds you of an awesome song, which is exactly what happened on Thursday.
May 30, 2014: Zedd – Stay the Night
Best Line/s: “Don’t dull the sparkle in your eyes. I know that we were made to break. So what? I don’t mind.”
It’s Friday night. Need more be said?
May 31, 2014: Disclosure – F for You
No best line for this one, but it’s a great dance song.
I do need to note that this night saw both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014 and Evening in Manila. Happy to say I won best dressed at the latter event (like hell I had tickets to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame).
June 1, 2014: Hall and Oates – Every time You Go Away
Newly inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sunday’s song goes to this awesome duo.
